What are scented candles made of?

Scented "Kvepia Sakai" candles are made from soy wax and scented oils. We choose soy wax for our candles because it's no secret that soy wax is one of the healthiest waxes - natural, derived from soybeans, organic and biodegradable. It has the advantage that burning a candle produces almost no soot, thus reducing indoor air pollution. Soy wax candles also burn longer and have a more intense scent. The quality of the scent, the naturalness and the fragrance, which helps to relax and create a special mood, are also of particular importance to us. That's why we choose scents from French producers. We don't use fragrances from China, our fragrances have a natural scent and last much longer.

What makes our candles in a concrete jar special?

Each concrete jar is handmade. We use special moulds to mould the jar and lid and fill them with scented wax. The concrete jar's distinctive look can become a feature of your terrace or home interior.

What makes our candle wicks special ?

You'll find woody notes in our scented candles, complemented by a carved wooden wick that crackles, burns gently and brings out the best in the scent. The wick lightly crackles as it burns, creating the sensation of a fireplace crackling. This wick differs from a simple corded wick not only in its crispness, but also in the fact that it emits less smoke when burning, the flame is more subtle and the wick itself does not need to be shortened.

Why don't we use essential oils in our candles?

Essential oils are generally not used in scented candles, as waxes weaken the intensity of their scent at high temperatures. Some essential oils can give off a different or even unpleasantly musty smell when burnt.

What you should know about our candles?

Large glass or concrete candles burn for 2-3 days. Smaller candles burn for 1-1.5 days. During this time, the scent will diffuse through your room and become more intense. We do not recommend burning the candle for longer (unless you are outside), as the intense aroma can give you a headache. Be patient when lighting the candle for the first time, as wooden wicks burn more slowly than rope wicks, so use a lighter to light the wick for a little longer until it is lit. After about 1-2 hours, the top layer of soy wax will have thinned and you can see the amber slowly sinking down. Be careful when burning the candle as the glass container of the candle heats up after a few hours, do not burn yourself. It is also worth being aware that you should not leave the candle unattended when it is finished burning and make sure that the amber pieces do not come into contact with the flame, as amber, being an organic material, can catch fire. Once the candle has burnt out, you can use the container once more: the soy wax is easy to wash off with dishwashing liquid or soap, and the container can be used to store things you want to put away after washing.

What should you know about home fragrances?

We also use fragrance oils to make home fragrances. Every time you buy a home fragrance kit or a fragrance refill, you will also receive a new scent stick. The home fragrance jar is handmade from Lithuanian oak. Because the wood is porous, the inside is impregnated with a special material to keep the scent liquid inside. This prevents the liquid from escaping through the pores of the wood and getting onto the sticks. The scent jar (100 ml) lasts for 6 months. Simply pour the liquid into the jar and add 3-5 sticks (depending on the intensity of the scent you want). The scent sticks should be wiped occasionally or blotted with a paper towel to prevent dust from interfering with the scent. It is also advisable to replace the scent sticks at least every 3 months, as over time the pores of the sticks also become clogged and the intensity of the scent decreases.

What should you know about our gift sets?

We can currently send several gift set options: a home fragrance jar with a home fragrance of your choice and a black frosted or clear large candle of your choice. All packaged in a black matt gift box with a transparent window and a green paper chip pad.
